Too many times when newspaper reporters start to blog, their posts are static, lifeless, too journalistic if not outright pedantic. Once in a while a reporter gets blogging right off. Meet William M. Hartnett. His posts so far are short, often funny and always personal. Good stuff. And he has a fine selection of cat photos, too.

Kind and much appreciated words. Bit upset that you exposed my shameless traffic-inflating cat photo strategy, though. If it doesn’t pan out, I’m thinking babies dressed as fruit holding bunnies and ice cream cones.
